Real estate developers, Allied Properties REIT and RioCan have teamed up to bring a unique project to Toronto's desirable King West neighbourhood. Currently in its planning stages, Kingly Condos will be a mixed-use retail and residential project injoint development with the King Portland Centre.
The upscale residential development will be 15 storeys of 133 exclusive modern suites. Open-concept layouts will range from 416 to 2,800 sqft with phenomenal views of the city’s skyline. Grand 9 foot ceilings will brighten even the modest of floor plans.
Design Features
Hairiri Pontarini Architects have combined the retro red brick of the existing framework with large modern glass windows, private balconies, and a rooftop terrace.
The podium will feature 13,000 sqft of retail space. Arched thresholds will bridge the original structure with the residential storeys above -making old infrastructure new again.
Introducing the King Portland Centre
The King Portland Centre will be situated next door to Kingly Condos. This structure will house a quarter million sqft of retail space spread across the 13 storey building. Thus far, well known tech and retail giants Shopify and Indigo will tenant the highly-anticipated hub along with various restaurants and vendors.
The development plan will also oversee the modifications to Adelaide Street, King Street and Portland Street to better accommodate the community. Laneways and woonerfs have been incorporated in the plan to maximize accessibility to the building amenities.
