    • We have had a very bad experience dealing with Brookfield at Pathways Caledon East Homes. My issue stems from Brookfield not allowing a minor change to our floor plan design. We originally requested the tandem Garage in the design package which was optional from the standard design at the time for signing the agreement of Purchase and Sale but upon reevaluating our living situation and some drastic changes that presented themselves, we had to change our decision and requested this change to the floor plan to include the Optional Ground Floor plan (with sixth bedroom and ensuite) instead of tandem Garage. Brookfield’s response to our request was, "This would require an additional pre-construction appointment from decor, and regrettably, their schedule wouldn’t be able to permit this in time”. Brookfield flat out rejected our request and refused to accommodate to change the floor plan which is readily available as per drawings.
Our frustration is that after spending so much money on our dream home, Brookfield will not accommodate our requirements/needs. As we have elderly parents living with us, are forced to live upstairs and we require these changes to accommodate their health and ease of life, which was explained to Brookfield. Now instead of us enjoying our home and looking forward to its completion date it is now going to be a memory of a bad experience which has already left to leave a bitter taste in our mouths. I expressed my willingness to accept a later closing date (as the house is scheduled to close in late August 2021) without a penalty; however, Brookfield refused to accommodate my request. The whole ordeal makes me regret my decision to purchase my dream home from Brookfield.
